My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Buddy (Buddy Boy)
A big-hearted, medium-energy goofball who just wants to love and be loved.

His Story
Buddy was found standing in the middle of a road on the east side of Indy, unsure of where to go next. When his foster opened her car door, he climbed right in without hesitation. His previous owner, who was facing terminal illness, made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him so he could get the care and stability he deserved.

When he first arrived, Buddy was timid and kept his distance. Over time, he’s blossomed into an affectionate, joyful companion who greets his foster with full-body excitement.

Personality & Energy Level
Buddy is a medium-energy dog who enjoys a balance of activity and relaxation. He’s playful, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented. He loves to be close to his person—especially at bedtime, where he happily snuggles in and settles down.

He’s gentle at heart, but he doesn’t always realize how big and goofy he is, which adds to his charm.

Dog Friendships
Buddy gets along well with female dogs of all ages. His foster sisters adore him, and he loves cuddling and playing with them. He is not a fan of male dogs, so he’ll do best in a home with female pups or as the only dog.

What He Loves
• Sleeping in bed with his person
• Snuggling with his foster sisters
• Backyard time (especially squirrel watching)
• Walks and exploring
• Being close to the people he trusts

Training & Skills
Buddy is smart and eager to please. He already:
• Has excellent recall (in enclosed spaces)
• Knows “sit”
• Responds well to positive reinforcement

He doesn’t love crates or being shut in a room, but he’ll happily settle with a frozen peanut butter toy or Kong. He’s also working on remembering that shoes aren’t toys.

Who Buddy Is Looking For
Buddy would thrive with someone who wants a loyal, affectionate partner by their side. He’s perfect for someone who appreciates a big, sweet, slightly clumsy dog who will bring warmth and joy into everyday life.

If you’re looking for a dog who gives his whole heart, Buddy is ready to be your new best friend.

More about this rescue

We started out fighting for our baby boy, Lucci, who was killed due to Airport Animal Emergi-Center Clinic's breed prejudice. When he was killed, we make a promise that no bully would be left behind. Now we try to save as many bullies as we can!
