My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Currently fostered at our Evansville IN location

Meet Tiggy!
9 Years Old | Orange Tabby | Front Declawed

Say hello to Tiggy, a handsome orange gentleman who has mastered the art of living life on his own terms. Independent and calm, Tiggy isn’t the clingy type—he prefers to show affection when he decides it’s time, making him the perfect match for someone who appreciates a cat with confidence and personality.

Tiggy is front declawed, and he previously lived with other cats, though we aren’t sure how he’ll do with them in a new home. His experience with kids and dogs is also unknown. What we do know is that this mellow boy loves nothing more than stretching out in a warm sunny spot and enjoying a peaceful day.

If you’re looking for a relaxed, low-maintenance companion who knows exactly what he wants, Tiggy is ready to brighten your home—and your windowsills—with his quiet charm.

Apply to meet him at: ITVrescue.org

All of our cats are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
