My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Could Curtis be any more handsome? Not only does he have the looks, he's got the wit! Curtis has shown that he is easy to train, happy to be with his people, and super affectionate.
Curtis is an active and intelligent dog who does best with routine, structure, and consistent engagement. He thrives when he has a “job” to do and benefits from both mental and physical outlets throughout the day. In his foster home, Curtis has shown that he’s very trainable and food-motivated. He currently knows sit, lay down, paw, and touch, and continues to learn quickly with positive reinforcement.
His foster has been raving about him and is so excited for his next adventure. If you're looking for an active companion to be your ride or die, you've got to check out Curtis!

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
