Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Hester is a Patient Paw, please ask about her reduced adoption fee!**
Hester is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as she is not available to meet on site.
Meet Hester! A former mama cat, Hester is still figuring out this whole `being a pet thing`. At least she doesn`t have to compete with her kittens for playtime anymore! Those troublemakers were always stealing all the best toys for themselves!! Like any young cat, Hester loves a good play session; she especially enjoys batting around springs and bubbles, or chasing balls on her ball track! She`s also partial to curling up for a nap in her favourite sunny windowsill. Now that the days are getting colder, Hester is even starting to cuddle up next to her foster family for a nap! Hester is working on gaining confidence with handling. She absolutely adores cheeks scratches and will lean in so hard she falls over. However, Hester has little patience for petting without permission and might give you a smack if you try! A teen or adult only home with the patience to let Hester learn to trust would be ideal for this goofy girl. If your home is full of cat toys that nobody plays with, your heart is longing for a goofy kitty to bring you joy, and you believe that cats don`t need to be perfect to be loved, then reach out to the adoptions team to meet Hester!

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
