My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! I'm Elden!

I am ready for adoption!

I love to play! I can't believe how lucky I was to have eleven brothers and sisters because I always have someone to play with.

A few weeks ago at a meet and greet I met these tiny humans called "kids." Guess what? They like to play too! Because I am such a sweet and friendly guy I wasn't shy like some of my siblings, but I was also pretty gentle. We have pretty good manners in this family. So, I would love to have a home with a playful dog friend or kids. I'm a pretty simple, unproblematic playmate.

Lest you think I am "too high energy," my foster mom wants me to tell you that I am the best at coming when she calls my name and that I come to her in the middle of play to check in and get some love. In fact, I am giving big snuggle bug vibes so if you're looking for a good boy who can be active but also knows how to relax and be loved on, I might be your guy! I've had a pretty happy life as a puppy and feel like I will be a pretty balanced dog when I grow up. Plus I'm pretty handsome too!

I am functionally potty trained, but would need to be introduced to the routine in my furever home. I can walk on a leash and I can sit and spin on command. Now I'm learning how to shake! Sometimes after I get my treat I like to put my hands on my person's to say thanks so shake was pretty easy to learn.

Oh! I almost forgot! I really love water. I like to splishy splash in big bowls and kiddie pools. I might have a future out on a kayak or paddle board too!

I would love to share my enthusiasm for this life with you!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in one of our animals, please fill out an adoption application, located on our web site here: http://tubacityhumanesociety.org/adoptions/ . There is more information about our adoption process, including our adoption fees, on that page. In general, fill out an adoption application, and then photo or scan it to our email at tubacityhumane@gmail.com, and that enables us to start a conversation with you. From there, the foster would usually set up a meet and greet with the animal you are interested in. We like all family members to meet the animal, and any other pets as well. We do require a home check. Adoption fees do not cover our veterinary cost, but do help us to continue our work. All animals are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Most animals are also microchipped.

Go meet their pets

Arrangements can usually be made to meet most of our adoptable animals in Flagstaff. The process starts by filling out an application and returning it to to us through email. Some animals are fostered in Tuba City or other locations. We do attend some adoption events in Flagstaff.

More about this rescue

We are a small rescue/foster group located in Tuba City, AZ, on the western Navajo Nation. We do not have a facility. We have two main programs: rescue of homeless animals in need, and a low-cost spay/neuter program for the public. We rely on donations to continue our work.
