My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dodger Needs Someone to See Him 💙

Dodger is a 3-year-old Rat Terrier who came from a hoarding situation. For most of his life, he likely lived confined and afraid. When he first arrived, he was completely shut down.

He isn’t a perfect dog—and he may never be. He still hides sometimes. He doesn’t go outside on his own yet. He uses pee pads most of the time. But what Dodger does have is a heart full of love and a deep desire to feel safe.

He plays in the yard now. He climbs into my lap for comfort. He sleeps in my bed and comes back to me when he’s scared. Every small step he takes is a victory.

Dodger will be a wonderful companion for someone patient and kind—someone who understands that love doesn’t come in a perfect package.

He’s ready to give his whole heart.
All he needs is someone willing to accept it. He has a special adoption fee of $25.

Additional adoption info

We are a RESCUE ORGANIZATION; please complete your online Adoption Application, which can be found on our website. We require an adoption application, vet reference, and a home visit with the pet. ALL of our pets are spayed, neutered or scheduled prior to being adopted. They are UTD on shots, heartworm negative, treated or scheduled to be treated, and micro chipped. They must be kept on heartworm preventative for the rest of their lives. Our adoption fees vary. Puppies have an increased adoption fee since they need three or four sets of shots, multiple de-wormings, and other puppy needs to keep them healthy.

More about this rescue

CPR is an animal rescue organization run solely by volunteers. Our primary goal is to save dogs from euthanization at shelters as a result of factors such as a lack of funding and space. These wonderful animals are put at risk because they have no one to claim and adopt them. We aim to give them the second chance that they so deserve. Our animals come to us from shelters around DFW and stay in foster homes where they are given the medical attention (vaccinations, surgeries, heart worm testing, etc) and care that they deserve.
