If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We rescued Chance 4 years ago and while he is such a good boy, we have really struggled to unlock him. We are experienced Pitt owners but the Rhodesian throws a stronger personality that while he listens he is very rambunctious and while he is good with our little boy, he is an 80 pound lap dog that wants to be the center of our world and doesn’t understand that our child comes first.
He has not been aggressive towards our son at all, but he does need to be an ‘only child’. We call him Clydesdale because he’s very heavy footed and if you are smaller than he is, he will run right through you (or other dogs). So while he is ok with other dogs, he really is needy enough he needs to be an only dog.
He is leash and kennel trained and would come with both as well as all of the dog food that we have. We hate rehoming him, but he needs a bigger home with someone who can be solely focused on him.
If you want a pup that will play fetch all day and beg for more, he’s your dog!
