My name is Luka!

Luka is a 6-year-old Samoyed, he is deeply loved and well-trained. He is housebroken, e-collar trained, and knows commands like sit, stay, down, wait, come, etc. He loves hikes and car rides! Luka does resource guard non-food items (like socks or napkins) and can become reactive if someone tries to take them or get near him. He has bitten in these situations and growls if provoked. However, he does not guard food, toys, or water, and is otherwise a sweet, obedient dog when his triggers are avoided. The e-collar is very effective when he does choose to guard and he is used to wearing it. I have had Luka since he was 8 weeks old and love him deeply, rehoming him is not something I ever thought would have to do. With my current situation and his behaviors, it’s the most responsible option. I am looking for an experienced person who can handle a reactive dog and help him thrive without fear of him being put down.
