My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION PENDING!

Meet Juno, a gentle, older mixed breed with a heart full of love and a quiet charm that's impossible to resist. We estimate Juno to be about 10 years old and have listed her a Chihuahua mix although we're sure there's another breed or two mixed in. We are doing a DNA test (through DNAMyDog.com) to determine her genetic makeup and age. She currently weighs in at 25 pounds and is on a diet to achieve her ideal weight around 20-22 pounds.

While her eyesight is not great, Juno enjoys the simple pleasures in life — a slow walk around the block, a sunny spot in the yard, and the comforting presence of someone who cares. Because her eyesight is limited, a gentle touch will let her know you are there and she will follow your voice. Occasionally she will gently touch the back of your leg to be sure you are there and to let you know she is there too. Juno doesn’t need much — just a cozy place to rest her paws and a kind human to love her through her golden years.

Juno is very people friendly; although we recommend no young children. She is dog selective, and we recommend she be an only dog.

If you're looking for a sweet, low-key companion to share peaceful days and quiet evenings, Juno could be your perfect match. Give this lovely lady the safe, loving home she deserves to spend the rest of her days in comfort and care. Juno is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped and ready to find her furever home. Come meet Juno — she’s ready to love and be loved.

Our Mission: Rescue abused, neglected, abandoned dogs. Address their medical needs and provide temporary homes until they are adopted.

Spay/neuter, vaccinate, microchip all dogs that come into Me and My Shadow Dog Rescue, if needed.

Find good loving forever homes for these rescued dogs.

Assist small towns in NM with spaying/neutering of resident’s dogs through low-income voucher programs or mobile vet services.

Provide needed medical care for senior dogs with the goal to either make them adoptable or provide them with hospice care at a Me and My Shadow Dog Rescue foster home.

We are an all-volunteer, no-kill, foster-based rescue organization. We do not adopt pets outside New Mexico.
