Their adoption process

Adopters must fill out an Adoption application (available on our website), and submit to home inspection by one of our staff. If accepted there is a $100 adoption fee. If the adopter cannot keep the pet for any reason, the cat must be returned to us.

More about this rescue

Golden Oldies Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in June 2016. Our mission is to be a resource and advocate for older cats in Monterey County. We re-home older cats in Monterey County whose guardians can no longer care for them, or those who are at risk in local shelters. We place these cats in temporary foster homes and then find permanent loving homes for them enriching the lives of both the cats and their new humans. We promise a lifetime commitment to the cats in our care. They either will be adopted or will live out their lives in one of our foster homes. Golden Oldies is led by a board who share a vision of helping older cats in Monterey County live out their remaining years in safe, secure and loving homes. We are all volunteer and 100 percent foster-based
