Bertie is a petite two-year-old American Bully weighing at 47 pounds. She is the perfect mix of playful and easygoing.
Bertie is housebroken, crate trained, and great on leash walks. She does a great job matching the energy of her canine pals. She’s also been tolerant of cats, even trying to engage in play with one of the resident felines.
With her medium energy level, Bertie knows how to have fun, especially if there’s water involved. She loves to swim! But she’s just as happy to cuddle up in your lap (yes, she thinks she’s a lap dog and we’re not going to argue).
Bertie’s go-with-the-flow temperament and affectionate nature make her a wonderful companion for a variety of homes. She’s ready to bring her sweet personality and big heart into yours.

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.

We are 100% volunteer/foster based, so we do ask that you complete an adoption application in order for us to schedule a phone interview.

After reviewing your application, we'll contact you to determine if dog is a good fit for your lifestyle and home.
Approve Application
We check vet and personal references to ensure previous dogs were well cared for, so please be thorough in providing this info.
Home Check
This enables the dog to get to know you and your home and for us to suggest anything they may need to be successful in your home.
Sign Adoption Contract
You would also pay the fee at this time, however, we offer a 2 week trial period before cashing your check. We will always take dogs back.
