My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Franklin is a very outgoing, social and mischievous kitty who will leave you laughing and shaking your head often. He will often 'stir the pot' with other kitties and watch the trouble unfold. He will demand to be picked up and given love and pets. He's truly a character and we find ourselves often saying 'Franklin... you menace.' He does have a loud purr motor and loves the 1:1 attention.

Franklin is very handsome with his striking markings. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccines and flea/tick preventatives. He has been feline leukemia/FIV tested and is negative.

We do not know how he would do with dogs - this is something we have not tested. He doesn't mind being around other kitties but does get assertive time to time. He is a more dominant personality compared to other cats in our care.

Adopters will need to bring a collar & leash for dogs and/or cat carrier for cats/kittens.

Additional adoption info

We are a donation based operation located in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. We fully vet, vaccinate and medicate animals that come into our care according to their age under the direction of our team of veterinarians: Riverside Vet Clinic. All dogs and cats receive a comprehensive wellness exam, distemper, rabies (if old enough), are dewormed & medicated for flea/tick/heartworms (as a preventative). Occassionally, we will receive a very sick animal who will require significantly more vetting than others and those vet fees are offset into the adoption fee. This would be why some animals are priced higher than others.

The Duke Memorial Redwood Area Animal Shelter is located at 201 Sherwood Drive in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Our adoption hours include Monday through Friday from 1pm - 5pm. Anyone is welcome to visit during our open hours of operation unless indicated differently on our social media. Our animals would love to meet you and play with you. We also host 'doggie day out' events where a family can take a pup out for a day on the town while we are open. It's a great way to get to know the animal and the animal to get to know you!
