Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nana is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as she is not available to meet on site.
**Nana is a Patient Paw, please ask about her reduced adoption fee!**
Age: 3 years old Weight: 33.9kg / 74.7lb
A little bit about Nana: - Unknown history with children; all interactions should be carefully supervised by an adult - Unknown history with cats and other small animals; all introductions should be done slowly over a period of time - No dogs in home (required)
Say hello to Nana a lovely stray girl looking for her forever home! Although she doesn’t have a known history, she’s been showing us her personality here in the shelter. Nana can be a little shy at first (understandable, since shelter life feels overwhelming for her) but she is also incredibly sweet and, once comfortable, full of beans! She’s energetic and playful, yet also knows how to enjoy the little things, like stretching out in the shade and lounging in the grass on sunny walks.
Nana is still learning how to “be a dog,” so she’ll need a patient, encouraging home that can guide her with plenty of positive reinforcement as she gains confidence. With the right support, she’s sure to blossom into a wonderful companion.
Nana does have very mild arthritis, so keeping her lean and fit will help her stay happy and healthy for years to come. If you’re looking for a mix of sweetness, spunk, and a whole lot of potential, Nana just might be your girl!

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
