My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mittens is a little over one year old, full of personality and has already mastered the art of stealing hearts. This beautiful tabby girl, with her striking coat and adorable socks, may have only one eye-but don't let that fool you! She sees the world just fine...especially when it comes to spotting a cozy lap or a tasty treat!

Mittens is playful, curious and confident. She gets along well with calm cats and would thrive in a gentle, loving home where she can depend on a routine.
She would be fine as an only kitty if you are home much of the time. She wouldn't do well with dogs or with small children.

Mittens is spayed, vaccinated, FeLV and FIV tested negative, Microchipped, dewormed and flea treated.

Mittens needs time and patience to adjust to new surroundings, but she will reward you with love! At times she prefers to use a pee pad in front of the litter box instead of the box itself, perhaps due to losing her eye as an adult, so it is fair to say that she is house trained.

If you would like to meet Mittens and give her a chance to shine, please fill out an application at www.southerncounties.org to set up a meet & greet. Mittens will be waiting!

More about this rescue

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit cat rescue group. We rescue abandoned cats & kittens from the streets and high kill city animal shelters in Orange, Los Angeles, Imperial and San Diego counties.
We also help people who need to rehome their pets through our Community Foster Program in that we post the cats on our internet sites and accept applications for them. We also help the owner screen applicants and bring their cats to our adoption events but we cannot physically take them since we are foster based. We do not have a physical shelter, we foster in our homes, not in cages which is a more natural environment for cats.
Lastly, we help reduce the number of unwanted kittens with TNR (Trap-Neuter/spay-Release) by loaning traps and instructing others on how to TNR and by referring people to low-cost S/N clinics.
