My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dixie’s dream? A human to love. Could it be you?
BAHS saved this 2-year-old Shepherd/Terrier mix on the very day she was scheduled to be euthanized—and she’s been soaking up belly rubs and love ever since. Dixie is a total people pup who just wants to be near you. ??
If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who will make every day brighter, Dixie’s your girl.

More about this shelter

The Bulverde Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founded in 1983 by Dolores Caldwell, BAHS is a no-kill shelter caring for up to 400 dogs and cats annually. The shelter resides on 3.25 acres of park-like land and houses indoor/outdoor kennels, a cattery, nursery/medical recovery building, agility fields, and fenced-in play yards.

BAHS is powered by volunteers and overseen by a Board of Directors. Our volunteers ensure the dogs and cats get plenty of exercise, playtime, and unlimited cuddles, love, and affection.
