My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB: 05-23-2019

Poppyseed is like a hidden gem—her affectionate nature won’t be evident immediately, but, with time, you will discover she has a loving personality that is truly precious.

Poppyseed has been through a number of stressful transitions in her life: homelessness, being in a municipal animal control centre, and then in temporary foster homes. The changes have been difficult and unsettling for her, and she will need time and patience to feel safe and comfortable in her new home. Once Poppyseed has earned your trust, you will be rewarded with the most delightful cat companion.

Her current foster family has provided a comforting environment for Poppyseed and describes her endearing personality: “Poppyseed is an extremely sweet little friend that makes her affection towards you well known. She gets excited when you wake up, will meow at you, and settle onto her rightful place on your chest. Sometimes, she'll rub her head on your face and give you a face full of fur! She likes to give kisses followed by a few nibbles.

“Poppyseed is a highly confident cat that enjoys human company and knows no strangers. She will see someone new and happily go to check out if their lap is a good place to sit. She is not overly demanding and is also comfortable spending time alone.

“Poppyseed loves to sleep draped across your lap like a scarf or just comfortably lounging on you. She'll occasionally tilt her head back to look at you with her big yellow eyes. She loves to be in close contact with her people.”

Poppyseed's ideal family will be experienced cat owners that will be mindful of her quirks and allow her to set the pace of the interactions until she is comfortable.  A bit of understanding and patience will lay the foundation for a strong and trusting bond.

More about this rescue

We are small but growing group of volunteers who simply love cats. We are not-for-profit organization who rely on public donations and support to continue to operate and save the lives of many innocent cats and kittens. The majority of our cats & kittens are rescued from Kill shelters who are rescue friendly and allow us to take these cats who are slated for euthanasia because of a lack of space in the shelter. Foster homes are our life blood, we need foster homes year round. Volunteers to help us with fundraising events, garage sales, adoption centres etc are always welcomed.
