My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Caramelo!
This handsome 2-year-old, 60-pound Carolina Dog mix is as unique as he is sweet—just look at those stunning eyes, one green and one blue!

Caramelo is a mellow, affectionate guy who loves people and soaks up every bit of attention and petting he can get. He’s super friendly and has a calm, easygoing vibe, but he also enjoys playtime with another medium-energy dog.

He’s also a very tidy pup—he’s not much of a leg lifter and he waits patiently to go potty outside instead of in his kennel. Even though he was found as a stray, you’d never know it—Caramelo acts like he’s always been loved.

With his good manners, gentle nature, and affectionate personality, Caramelo is ready to be someone’s loyal best friend.

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
