My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Baron is a 1.5-year-old Shepherd mix with a gentle heart and a playful spirit. At first, he’s shy and timid—especially with new people and men—but once he feels safe, his personality shines. He’s been making great progress with our male volunteers and is learning that the world is full of people who want to be his friend.

Once Baron trusts you, you’ll meet the goofy, affectionate, and smart boy hiding beneath the shyness. He loves to play fetch and lights up the moment he sees a ball. He’s also an eager learner, especially when treats are involved, making training both fun and rewarding.

Baron would thrive with someone willing to give him the patience and reassurance he needs as he settles in. A quieter home or one that understands how to help a timid dog gain confidence would be ideal. He did well meeting a pre-teen, but he hasn't been tested with kids in our care.

With time, consistency, and a loving family, Baron will blossom into the loyal, joyful companion he’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a sweet, smart dog who just needs a little extra understanding to shine, Baron may be the perfect match. His adtoption fee has been sponsored! There is a $15 fee for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
