Meet the Pet
In the summer of 2025, we rescued a group of puppies from a ranch in Central Texas where there were more than 60 dogs needing help. An elderly rancher had 5 livestock guardian dogs protecting his Boer goats, and he never got any of them sterilized, so the natural result was breeding. It only takes a few generations for the population to EXPLODE. This group of pups may represent two different litters -- we're not sure, but there appear to be two different age groups. We gave them all names from the Toy Story movies.
Hammy is a social butterfly and would love a family of his own. He loves the water, playing with toys, and rolling in the dirt. He is learning to have good manners living inside the house, and he appreciates a cushy dog bed. He will also join you on the sofa if he's allowed. Other pups from the same ranch have grown up to be 100+ lbs, so it's entirely possible that Hammy will be equally large once he's fully grown.
Coming from a ranch where the dogs don't get ANY interaction with humans, Hammy is making up for lost time with his foster family. He can still be shy when meeting new people, but he is learning that friends and family of his foster parents are pretty awesome and quick to give him tummy rubs.

Our application process usually includes a vet/reference check, plus landlord check if you rent.
Home Check
One of our volunteers will meet you at your home to verify that you have secure fencing and a safe place for one of our dogs to live.

We typically arrange a meet & greet at Windsong Ranch in Whitewright TX and invite you to bring your dog/s with you.
