My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 1 year

Cucumber is silly young guy who loves to talk! He`ll happily show off his beautiful voice, trilling away at you and telling stories. He was very shy when he first came to the shelter, but with the support of his former foster family (humans and kitties) he has gained a lot of confidence and learned to love petting. He can still be skittish if something startles him, but Cucumber is gaining resilience and becoming braver everyday! In shelter, he is a bit nervous, but once he`s settled into your home, he becomes the most goofy boy! He loves chasing toys around, launching himself dramatically onto the bed and might just be a lap cat someday! (He was `caught` by his foster parent cuddling up to them while they slept!) If you are patient family looking for a goofy kitty, Cucumber might be a great match for you! Reach out about him or pop by the shelter today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
