My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Meet Jewel **

Looking for a true gem of a cat? You’ve found her! **Jewel** is a gorgeous senior kitty with an amazing temperament that has made her a **staff and volunteer favorite** here at UPAWS. She’s calm, gentle, and full of quiet charm—the kind of cat who instantly makes any space feel warmer just by being there.

Jewel is easy to love and even easier to care for. She does have **hyperthyroidism**, which simply means she takes a **small daily medication** to keep her feeling her best—and she’s a pro about it! In return, she’ll give you years of gratitude, companionship, and those soft, knowing purrs that only an old soul can share. A supply of her meds will be included.

If you’re looking for a cat who will fill your days with love, comfort, and grace, **Jewel is waiting to shine in your home.**

More about this shelter

We are a local non-profit organization run and staffed by your neighbors. We make decisions on caring for homeless, unwanted, abandoned and abused domestic animals based on what we believe is best for them. We have no affiliation with any larger group and we receive no funding from any larger group that might influence our decisions or actions.

We advocate only for the animals in our care to help them find their forever home with you.

UPAWS does not receive operating funds from any governmental agency. We rely on donations from our neighbors and friends to make our efforts possible. We save consistently 98% of the animals who come to us – which is an award-winning success story. We want to educate everyone on proper animal care so there soon won’t be the three percent who come to us too sick or wounded to be saved. It’s your support that makes this dream possible.
