My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADDIE
Female Terrier/Chihuahua mix
5 months, 9.75 lb

LIKES: Toys, being silly with other pups, sleeping in very funny positions, meals.

DISLIKES: Scary noises, people who grab her too fast, dogs that are too in her face or that chase her.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Timid, playful, cuddly, cautious.

POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Work in progress. Will use pee pads or go outside. Could be 100% outside if she was able to go outside more often.

CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Crate trained.

EXTRAS/MISC.: Addie is a very shy girl who is going to need some patience and training to come out of her shell. She is a wonderful snuggler and lap dog - once you go get her, because she doesn't come to people willingly. She is fine with cats but we would not recommend any small children.

Meet and greets are recommended for any new potential sibling dogs, as well as all members of the family. She is not leash trained and will require a securely fenced yard.

To further inquire about ADDIE, submit an online application via our website.

Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how ADDIE will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet.

Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit.

We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for ADDIE, as well as her future family.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process begins with an online application, submitted via our website. We do not guarantee a response, but will reach out if we think that it's a good fit and then arrange for a meet and greet. We do not hold dogs for more than 48 hours for a meet and greet, and if the dog is scheduled to go to an adoption event it will not be held back. We do not transport dogs out of area. We do same-day adoptions at our meet and greet appointments and adoption events. We offer a one-week trial period to our adopters to make sure that things work out, and we encourage adopters to be familiar with the 3-3-3 rule for dogs. We also highly encourage puppy classes for our puppies, as training is very important in ensuring that dogs stay in their forever homes.
