Every storm has its eye, and at the center of this whirlwind is Twister, a dog whose life has been anything but still. Before arriving at the shelter, Twister’s world was full of chaos and noise, leaving him searching for shelter in more ways than one.
Like his name suggests, Twister can stir up quite a storm when life feels overwhelming. But what he’s really longing for is a calm horizon—a quiet home where he can finally slow down, breathe easy, and feel safe. Twister would do best as the only pet, or with very calm companions who won’t add to the gusts around him.
With patience, love, and a steady hand to guide him, Twister has the potential to settle into the sweetest, most loyal companion. His stormy days are behind him—he just needs someone to help him find the calm after the storm.

The Florence Area Humane Society was founded in 1974 as a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt non-profit charitable organization that rescues and shelters abandoned, abused, and neglected animals in the Florence community. The mission of FAHS is to rehabilitate them, provide appropriate medical care, and place them in forever, loving homes, ensuring happiness for both pet and owner. We promote adoptions as well as seek animal rescues to find suitable placement for the almost 2000 animals we take in annually.
