Meet Woody!
Breed: Jindo Mix
Age: 1years
Gender: Male
Weight: 47 lb
Height: 52 cm
Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, rarely barks, no escape tendency, social
Hi there! My name is Woody and I’ve had quite the journey so far. When I was just a tiny pup, about 2 months old, I was left tied up on a chain. Thankfully, some kind-hearted dog lovers rescued me and gave me a chance to learn what love feels like. I spent 2 months in a condo foster home where I got to experience cuddles, playtime, and meeting lots of new people. Now I’m at a boarding facility with 80–90 other dogs, and I’m doing great here too—but what I really dream of is a forever family to call my own.
My Personality
I’m a super social boy! I love meeting people and I’m not shy at all—strangers can hug me, pick me up, and I’ll happily roll over for belly rubs and give you kisses. I’m gentle with kids and would make a great family companion. If you’re looking for an affectionate, snuggly friend, that’s me!
With Other Dogs & Cats
I get along really well with dogs of all sizes. My favorite playmates are dogs about my size who enjoy a good wrestle, but if another pup is grumpy, I just walk away—I’m a peace-seeker. I’ve also met indoor cats. I was curious and followed them around, but I stayed gentle. On walks, I may get excited when I see cats, but I can be redirected with some guidance.
Energy & Lifestyle
I have a nice, moderate energy level. I love walks, outdoor activities, and adventures, but I’m just as happy to chill and nap with you afterward. I’m curious on walks and love to sniff EVERYTHING—so please be patient when I stop often to investigate. I can also hop right into the car when it’s time to go!
Food & Training
I have a healthy appetite and no resource guarding with humans, but I do growl if another dog comes too close while I’m eating (fair warning—I like my dinner!).
Crate trained
90% housetrained
Rarely bark
No separation anxiety
No escape tendencies
Why You’ll Love Me
I’m affectionate, playful, gentle, and adaptable. I’ve been through a lot, but I’m still full of love and trust for humans. I just need someone who will give me a safe home, a cozy spot to nap, and plenty of belly rubs.
Are you ready for a loyal best friend? Because I’m ready for you.
Energy Level: Moderate - Enjoys outdoor activities
I get along with:

Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.
Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.
Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.
Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.
Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.

As adopters of overseas dogs will be taking their dog home from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit.
