Meet Brooks — Your Shy, Handsome, Gentle-Hearted Companion
Brooks is a stunning long-haired black older kitten with soft, silky fur and bright, soulful eyes. He was rescued a little later in kittenhood, so the world has been a big, new place for him. With time, patience, and kindness, this sweet boy has slowly learned that humans can be safe and loving — and now he’s ready to find a home of his very own.
Personality
Brooks is a sensitive, thoughtful kitten who likes to take things at his own pace. Once he feels safe, he leans in for gentle pets, purrs softly, and enjoys being near his trusted people. He’s playful, curious, and full of sweetness — he just needs someone who understands that building trust is a journey, not a race.
Loves Other Cats
Brooks absolutely adores other cats. Confident feline friends help him feel braver and more at ease, so he would thrive in a home with at least one friendly resident cat who can show him the ropes.
Churu Enthusiast
One guaranteed way to Brooks’s heart? Churu treats. They are his absolute favorite, and they help him bond quickly with new people. If you have Churu, he has time for you.
Ideal Home
Brooks will do best in a calm, patient home with adopters who appreciate a shy kitty’s gentle process of opening up. With the right environment — love, reassurance, and maybe a confident cat buddy — he will blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion.
If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in earning the trust of a tender, sensitive soul, Brooks is ready to reward you with quiet affection, soft purrs, and a lifetime of love.
Brooks isn’t just looking for a home — he’s looking for his person. Could it be you?

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!
Please email cats@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time.
PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/
Our adoption process is:
1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.
2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
