Penny may be an older model but what she has on her in mileage she makes up for in features. This gorgeous blue girl is top of the line. She is house broken, crate trained, chill, non-reactive to other dogs, takes treats gently, great in the car and comfortable in every situation we’ve had her in. She settled in quickly and doesn’t seem to mind loud noises or banging. She sleeps thru the night clean in her crate. She will alert you to people coming up the walk or behind the house but quiets down quickly. She is a little territorial in her crate and will bark at dogs or cats who approach her area but her tail is wagging. She can also guard her food so best to feed her away from other pets. She is pretty low energy but does enjoy a good walk and will do the cutest little booty shake when it’s time for meals! She listens and takes directions well as she looks to please. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible animal rescue organization whose mission is to save as many animals as possible. We work closely with Alachua County Animal Services to reduce euthanasias at the Alachua County shelter.
We adopt dogs and cats of all ages to good homes at the Gainesville Petsmart (Butler Plaza on Archer Rd, click for a map) every Saturday and Sunday. We have a great selection of adoptable animals, including puppies, adult dogs, small dogs, cats, and kittens. All of our animals have been started on vaccinations (depending on how long they have been with us, they may need further vaccinations after adoptions). All have been vet checked and treated for any notable illness. All dogs are heartworm negative and many have been through heartworm treatment in our program. Some of these animals may have special needs, all of which are discussed at time of adoption.
We often have specials on adult animal adoptions. Not that these animals have flaws, but they are slightly used and may not be perfect! These are adult animals looking for a permanent home and they have many different stories of their pasts and all deserve a second chance at the good life.
