My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Playdoh!

Playdoh is a gentle, snuggly soul who’s ready to find his forever person. True to his name, he’s soft, sweet, and happiest when molded right into your side for cuddle time. He loves gentle pets, cozy naps, and calm, quiet environments where he can feel safe and loved.

Playdoh's heart really belongs to people—especially if you have a comfy couch or bed to share. Because he startles easily, he’d do best in a peaceful home without young children. He’s never mean, just a sensitive guy who prefers things on the calmer side.

This sweet boy is a little on the chubby side (all the more to love!) and adores his dry food, so he’ll need an adopter who can help him stay on a healthy diet. With some portion control and playtime, he’ll be feeling his best in no time.

If you’re looking for a loving companion who wants nothing more than to curl up beside you and be your loyal cuddle buddy, Playdoh might just be your perfect match.

Playdoh was rescued with dental issues and had surgery. We would be thrilled for a potential adopter to provide a larger adoption donation (between $250 and $400 total) and/or assistance crowdsourcing funds towards their necessary vet bills if possible.

This cat would prefer to be adopted alone and be the only cat in the home.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
