Roman is a very energetic and affectionate dog. I adopted him with my ex-partner from a kill shelter in Arizona in the Fall of 2018. At that time, we were told he was between 2 and 4 years old. I do not believe he is purebred Cattle Dog. He is a bit shorter than average for the breed and weighs around 35 lbs.
Roman has high anxiety which is alleviated by adequate exercise. He needs to be walked a minimum of 4 miles per day, every single day, to be at a baseline level of calm and comfort. He loves being outside and is a great hiking dog.
He is extremely devoted and affectionate and very people-focused. He does have initial suspicion towards other dogs but is able to bond with other dogs and get along in a safe space.
The reason I have made the very difficult decision to re-home him is that my partner and I separated and as a single person it has been very challenging to provide Roman with the attention and exercise that he needs.
