My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who needs an antennae to pick up all the good channels when you've got fabulous ears and the personality and fun style of lots of sitcoms rolled into one brindle body?! Meet Val, the gal who will
be famous for her ears and great personality! Val is a Feist mix younger adult, weighing about 36 lbs, who can be a but shy in new situations but settles in quickly and then is super quick to make friends and find fun all around.
Val is young and energetic and would love an active family. She is a great size that will likely fit in your lap but can hike like a dog 4x her size. Val would do fine in a home with other dogs, and may find they help to build some confidence in new things, but would be just fine on her own too. Val is channeling all of the yummy stuff a dog should be through those big ole ears. Come and meet this fun ball of Feist!
*Weekend Host Feedback: "Val was a fun little ball of energy! Riding in the car was not her favorite, but she eventually laid down and settled. She walks well on a leash, was very focused on the walk, and seemed to understand keeping a loose leash pretty quickly. She was unbothered by passing people or dogs. Only one accident the first night. Inside, she loves playing with toys and will keep herself occupied with stuffed toys and zoomies. She REALLY loves being outside. Val slept in the bed and was a huge snuggler!"
**Hiking feedback: "She has puppy energy!  She was very focused on the walk and enjoyed jumping up high on a large fallen log. I think she’d do well with an active family and her petite size is just great".
*Sleepover feedback: " Val was excellent about letting us know when she needed to go outside. She is such a love bug and always wants to be near you, whether you’re cooking dinner, relaxing on the couch, or going to sleep. She even slept in the bed with me, and I had absolutely no issues. She would do really well with an active family, as she loved going to the state parks to hike and would definitely enjoy having a backyard to run around in. Val also loves toys! We got her two stuffed toys (one she picked out herself!), and she did a great job keeping herself busy playing with them".
*Additional feedback: "She’s playful, active, and incredibly affectionate — she would thrive with an active family who can give her plenty of love, outdoor time, and play. Val is an absolute joy and such a special girl".

Additional adoption info

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org

Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue

Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.

We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
