My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Griz - Your Future Best Friend with a Big Heart! 💖🐾

Say hello to Griz-a sweet, spunky, and playful pup who's ready to be someone's one-and-only! With her goofy grin and tail that never stops wagging, Griz is the kind of dog who brings sunshine wherever she goes.

Griz is full of personality and lives for playtime-whether it's a game of fetch, a romp in the yard, or just some good old zoomies. She's affectionate, smart, and loves being around her people. If you're looking for a dog who's equal parts silly and sweet, Griz is your girl!

That said, Griz is looking for a very special kind of home. She can be reactive to other dogs and needs to be the only pet-she wants all your love, and she'll give it right back tenfold. An experienced owner who can provide structure, continued AnimalKind training, and a calm environment will help Griz be her best self.

Griz is making great progress with her training and walks well on leash in low-traffic areas. She's eager to learn and thrives with positive reinforcement and routine. She's not a dog park gal-but she is the kind of dog who will bond deeply with her person and become an incredibly loyal companion.

Griz has so much to give-and she's been waiting for someone who truly gets her. If you're ready to welcome a fun and fabulous girl into your life, Griz is ready to meet you! 💕

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
