My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zoey is a 12-year-old miniature schnauzer mix weighing 21 lbs. This lovely senior girl does have a grade 4/6 heart murmur, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying life’s little pleasures. Zoey is low energy and perfectly content with short strolls, a little time in the yard, or a cozy car ride. She’s house-trained (goes potty outside) and also paper trained, making her easy to manage. She doesn’t use a crate in her foster home.

She gets along well with other dogs and is curious but respectful with cats. While she hasn’t been around kids in our care, her gentle nature suggests she could adjust to a calm, patient household. Zoey is described as friendly, adaptable, happy, and playful—though she does take a little time to warm up. Once she feels safe, she’ll happily follow you around, ask for treats, and even get a little playful. She loves sleeping in bed with her foster mom and will reward patience with loyal companionship.

Zoey would thrive in a home where her people are around more often, but she also does well being left alone if she has other dogs for company. If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted friend to share your days with, Zoey would love to be your little shadow.

Zoey is heartworm positive. Wish Bone will continue to provide treatment through our vet or by providing the medication to the adopter's vet.

Her minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
