My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are the wildlings! Wolf, Coyote, Fox and Dingo. We are clearly smart as a whip, but we weren't socialized quite as much as we should've been. Rest assured, there is still time. If you have the patience, you'll see that we really want to trust and love. We are guessed to be mix of Kelpie and Lab. Those ears!

We are not aggressive, just scared but willing to take a treat - so we know the good things in life already. With time and patience, we are already learning that the world isn't so scary - and that humans can be kind, predictable and full of treats. Are you the human to show me the ropes?

If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come.

All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop

Go meet their pets

Our Shelter is open every day from 10am-4pm, except Sundays. On Sundays, we are open from noon-4pm.

We are open for walk-ins, but we recommend appointments because some of our pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment with another potential adopter. We just don't want you to come to our location and be disappointed if you can't meet a pet you are interested in.

You can select an appointment time using this link: https://koalendar.com/e/meet-and-greet-appointment.
