Hi there — my name is Jinx. I’m a stunning tortie (orange & black) domestic short hair. I’m a little reserved at first, but curious and laid-back once I get comfortable — and when I’m ready, I’m very affectionate and love giving headbutts. I’ll also let you know when I want extra attention (I’m pretty chatty about it!).
My only “special need” is patience: I’ll need a calm, quiet home and a patient person (or couple) who will give me a couple of weeks to settle in and trust my new surroundings. I do best without kids or a lot of commotion. I usually prefer to be the only pet in the house, though I’ve lived with an older sister and can tolerate a mellow, respectful cat — I mostly ignore her and only hiss if she bothers me.
A little about my story: I was rescued from a domestic violence situation and needed time to process leaving my family. TX Pawprints brought me into a loving foster home where I’ve done really well. If you give me a peaceful home and a little time, I’ll reward you with loyalty, cleverness, and lots of snuggles — I just might become your best friend fur-ever.

More about this rescue
Our group's founders came from other cat rescue groups as we wanted to accept the cats others would not accept; older animals, injured, FIV positive and black cats/kittens. We also assist with TNR and have several traps to loan. We are small and informal, and always welcome new volunteers in any capacity.
