My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gary

Gary is a handsome tabby boy with a big personality, looking for his forever person! He’s affectionate, funny, and has plenty of love to give—but he’s also a cat who knows what he wants. Gary enjoys being petted and hanging out with his human, but when he’s had enough, he’ll let you know with a little love bite. Because of this, he’s looking for a cat-savvy adopter who understands feline body language and respects his signals. Gary would do well by himself or a very submissive cat and slow introductions

Gary is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). That may sound intimidating, but it really isn’t! FIV is a slow-acting virus that affects a cat’s immune system, but with good care, cats with FIV can live long, healthy, happy lives. Gary doesn’t need special medication—just the same things every cat needs: a safe indoor home, good food, and regular vet care.

Don’t let the diagnosis scare you off—Gary is just as lovable, playful, and adoptable as any other cat. He’ll reward the right person with companionship, laughter, and plenty of affection on his own terms.

If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind cat who will make every day more interesting, Gary might be the perfect guy for you!

FIV+ cats need love too! FIV is species specific, meaning only cats can be infected. FIV+ cats can live just as long as non-FIV cats. If introduced properly, FIV and Non-FIV cats can live happy and healthy lives together. The virus is very frail and can only live outside the body for a few seconds, and requires serious physical interaction, like deep bite wounds. Normal social interactions, such as grooming, sharing food and water bowls and litter boxes have no known risk of transmission.
