Meet King – A Special Soul with So Much Love to Give
King has been through more than his fair share since arriving at our shelter. After a series of tests, we discovered that King has a rare congenital condition called atresia ani—a narrowing of the anus that makes it difficult and uncomfortable for him to defecate. Because of this, King requires a home where he can be taken outside every 3–4 hours and receive daily medication along with a special diet to help manage his condition and keep him comfortable.
On top of his medical needs, King prefers to be the only pet in the home—he's not a fan of other dogs, cats, or young children. But don’t let that fool you—King is full of love, personality, and playful energy. He adores deflated soccer balls and loves to run around proudly carrying them in his mouth. When he’s done playing, he’s just as happy to curl up beside you for snuggles and soak in all the affection you have to offer.
King would thrive in a quiet, stable home—maybe with a retired couple or someone who’s home most of the day and has the heart and patience to care for a truly special boy.
He’s been overlooked for far too long, but we know the right person is out there. Could you be the one to give King the love and comfort he so deeply deserves
