Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jasper here is an exuberant puppy who needs a new home!
He, quite literally, crash landed at the shelter by breaking his leg, going to the ER, needing an expensive surgery to fix it, which resulted in his surrender to make that possible. Now that he is on the mend, he is ready to find his forever home.
He is a whole lot of puppy energy, though some of it is probably pent up from his time healing. Through training, he has shown a lot of promise, and would be an exceptional dog if given the correct outlets, training, and guidance necessary to help him become a well mannered dog.
Jasper also experiences separation anxiety. Unfortunately that makes him not a good candidate for an apartment or being the only dog. Jasper loves other dogs, and learns well when he is around them. His mouthy behaviors are less frequent when he is with another dog on walks, and he settles quite nicely when left alone with his shelter friend, Leslie. Since this is the case, we believe he would benefit from a well-mannered adult sibling to copy as he grows and learns. However, a dog sitter is not all he is going to need. Proper human guidance, training, and enrichment is going to be absolutely necessary to help this little busy body succeed. Jasper is looking for an adult only home so he can be successful in his next chapter.
Jasper went on a field trip with one of our staff members. He went to the pet store to pick out a toy, played with their personal dog, and went for a walk. He was calm in a crate in the car, and proved to be quite well-mannered in a variety of new environments. He has the skills and brains to be an incredible dog if given a chance, could that be you?
If you think you are prepared to take on the excitement of puppy hood, then let us know by calling (603) 472-3647 and press 1 to speak to an adoptions counselor (or leave us a detailed voicemail and we will get back to you asap).
