My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Binx is a vocal rescue looking for a new dominion over which to exert her feline will. With Binx, there can be only ONE. Seriously, she doesn't do well with other cats (maybe a very chill male). Her dominion must include sunspots for stretching and showing her belly. It also must have a hiding place that is black so she can camouflage herself and scare the bejesus out of you when you least expect it. Catnip toys are a must to tame the hissing, defensive jaguar within. Her human must be willing to give chin rubs and be ok with an occasional swat if you try to pet her before she's had breakfast. Queen Binx prefers wet food, but will also steal leftovers off the counter, from hot dogs or chicken to eggs or pizza. She's been known to enjoy potato chips.

Kidding aside, she does act like a stray around other cats - aggressive at mealtimes. She needs to feel safe in her own space and will hiss, even when her tail is up. She's mostly bluster, but a smart pet owner needs to read her body language before petting her. She is a queen of slow blinks and rubbing against humans, but will quickly turn to defensive hissing or swatting if another cat is nearby. Binx may take time adjusting to a new home after being a stray for a long time - but your patience will be rewarded with a black beauty warming your lap.

Our adoption fee is $225, and if adopting two, the second cat/kitten's fee is $175. The adoption fee covers, spay/neuter, a wellness visit to the veterinarian, vaccinations for FVRCP (distemper) & rabies, and an FIV/FeLV test.

Additional adoption info

We require you fill out an application, we will check out the Vet you have listed and check references. Once you are approved for adoption we have an adoption contract filled out. This requires you to agree not to declaw the cat, not to let it outside, provide all necessary medical care (routine and emergent). We ask that if for some reason the adoption does not work out you return the cat to us. We also reserve the right to make home visits. Our adoption fee is $225, and if adopting two, the second cat/kitten's fee is $175. The adoption fee covers, spay/neuter, a wellness visit to the veterinarian, vaccinations for FVRCP (distemper) & rabies, and an FIV/FeLV test.

More about this rescue

We are a volunteer organization that does TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) of feral cats in town.If there are kittens we take them in, put them in foster homes and do all necessary medical care (spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations, FIV/FELV test). Once they are old enough and properly socialized we put them up for adoption.
