HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet her, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.
---
- Loves to cuddle - her foster family said once she settles in she's a pretty lazy girl and would do well in an apartment or house setup
- Loves stuffy toys and bones to chew on, and likes rolling around on her back and getting the zoomies outside
- Great on the leash, and she'll walk at your pace; also very polite when walking by other dogs
- Knows sit, down, come, kennel and drop it
- 100% crate-trained and is still working on potty training in her foster home but is making progress by the day!
- Can be picky about treats, but eats her food well and enjoys peanut butter and cheese
- Has done great left alone roaming in the house while her foster family is gone for 8+ hours
- Working on becoming more confident on getting in the car on her own - it's a tiny bit scary for her - but she does hop out all by herself
- Can be a little bit nervous around strangers and may bark, but typically warms up after a few minutes; her foster family has found that kenneling her for 10 minutes right when guests arrive at the house works best before letting her out to roam - she's much more comfortable that way!
- Can be pretty unsure and socially awkward around other dogs, and she may need some time to warm up; may also prefer some dogs over others (dog intro required)
- Young, noisy or busy kids may be too much for her and she may prefer a more mature home
- We don't know her history with cats
This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
