My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Donnie!
Donnie is a big-hearted, friendly boy who just wants to be part of the fun. He relaxes after a few minutes and is already crate trained. While he’s still fine-tuning his leash manners, he knows his basic commands and is working on consistency. Donnie is a smart, eager learner who truly wants to please.

He’s been around teenagers here at the Sanctuary and does well. Based on what we’ve seen with cats, small dogs, and people in general, he’s likely to do well with a variety of companions, though, as always, slow introductions are important. He loves joining playgroups with other dogs and has shown no reactivity to cats.

Donnie is affectionate, people-oriented, and always happy to meet new friends. He enjoys chew toys and stuffed toys and has no problem handing them over when asked. He’s a loving companion who thrives on attention, the more, the better!

Because of his size and youthful energy, he’ll need some guidance around small children, but with leadership and structure, Donnie has all the makings of a truly wonderful dog. Sweet, playful, and quick to learn, he’s ready to become the perfect companion for a family willing to help him shine.

Adopting from HEA

FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS:
Adoption is a huge deal to us. We make a lifetime guarantee to our companions. In return, we’re asking you to provide a lifetime commitment once you’ve invited a pet to join your family. We’re excited that you're considering adoption. We look forward to working with you to find the right match!

TIMELINE:
Our primary objective is to assure the correct match for the people and the pets that we’re sending to their forever homes. Our goal is to send dogs and cats home as quickly as we can, while still being thorough. Processing times will vary and are largely dependent on our ability to connect with your references, landlord, and veterinarian. To keep the process moving along, please make sure you’ve done your part:
1) Fill out your application completely - missing information slows down the process.
2) Let your references know to expect our call.
3) If you rent, let your landlord know to expect our call.
4) If you currently have pets, ask your veterinarian to be prepared to release your records.

LIFETIME GUARANTEE:
We make a pact with every animal that enters our care: They’re promised a loving home for the rest of their life. In turn, when you make the commitment to adopt, we ask you to make a lifetime commitment. We believe family is forever.
