A Second Chance at Forever
Comida, a beautiful Great Pyrenees mix, and her nine puppies are ready to find their forever homes! These sweet pups recently survived a terrifying bout with parvo, and now that they have a clean bill of health, they are in foster in New York ready to find families to love.

About the Great Pyrenees
Known as "Gentle Giants," Great Pyrenees are wonderful family dogs. They are loyal and even-tempered, and they love attention, especially from children. Their nature is somewhat reserved, yet they are incredibly attentive, fearless, and loyal to their families, both human and animal.
While highly intelligent, they are also known for being independent and strong-willed, so consistent training is essential. If you're looking for a dog that can be an "off-leash" companion, a Pyrenees may not be the right fit. They have a natural tendency to roam, so a securely fenced yard or leash walking is a must to keep them safe.
These dogs have a thick double coat that should never be shaved. They do shed and they can be quite vocal, but to be loved by a Great Pyrenees is an experience everyone should have!
How to meet dogs listed with “NY” :
• If the dog is listed with an ‘Avail date” and a (location) – the dog cannot be met until the event and it is a first come, first served adoption event with the dogs being met in the order the potential adopters sign in.

• If the dog is listed as being in a (foster home ie: Foster in Carmel) please email us at info@pawsafe.org and we will set up an appointment for you to meet the dog(s) that interest you at their foster home(s).
