My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Forest is a special little guy. He was found alone in a garden with his brother Chaz and immediately we were able to see something was wrong with his back legs. They were very weak and he would drag them behind him. However, despite his disability, he always pushed through and was always the sweetest kitten. We don't think he will ever regain use of his back legs but he does have control over his bladder and bowel movements so he doesn't need any help there, he might do well wearing a diaper. He can't use his back legs at all but he scoots around just fine with his front legs and quite quickly too! We haven't been able to work out a litter box that suits him so, for now, he just uses puppy pads. He's a spunky little thing and he loves his brother Chaz who protects him (and also beats him up like a brother would). He loves being held and cuddled and is very adventurous. He doesn't let his disability stop him from doing anything!

He will be fixed before adoption and his adoption fee includes everything involved with getting him to you (vet certificates, airline fee, adoption fee and carrier).
We hope you want to give this loving pair of brothers the amazing forever home they deserve.

If you're in Jamaica we can send you the location for the Haven and arrange a visit. If not we have an adoption database that has some of our adoptable animals. We're adding more everyday but we also share our other adoptables on our social media. You can always email us if you're interested in adopting and we can send you tons more pictures and info.

More about this shelter

We are a small animal shelter and rescue in Jamaica. We're run completely on donations and we have over 150 animals in our care. We began in 2009 to try and help stray animals across the island get off the dangerous streets and find forever homes or live out their lives with us. We sent 144 dogs to Canada in partnership with Save our Scruff at the beginning of 2021 and we've sent many others away to individual homes since then. We work with people with existing reservations to transport the dogs or cats to the states or Canada. We also work with people who come to Jamaica and want to adopt one of our rescues to take home when they leave. We're a no-kill shelter and we take in more than we adopt out. Unfortunately, local adoptions aren't common so we rely on international adoptions primarily.
