Skunk is a young, energetic Labrador mix who is finally getting the attention and care he always deserved. Much of his early life was spent as a backyard dog with little family interaction, so the shelter team and volunteers are working hard to help him learn manners, build confidence, and become the wonderful companion we know he can be.
This boy is highly active, friendly with new people, and eager to please. He already knows how to sit on command and is very treat motivated—perfect for continued training. Skunk walks well on the leash most of the time, but like many young, energetic dogs, he can get excited if he sees something that interests him. He settles down quickly, though, and is learning every day.
Skunk enjoys attention and loves to be petted, though he prefers not to stay still for too long—he’s always ready for the next adventure! With proper guidance, consistency, and plenty of exercise, he has excellent potential to thrive in a loving home.
Because he missed out on early socialization, Skunk will do best with an adopter willing to provide supervision and structure, especially around other dogs. Volunteers describe him as fun, strong, and very willing to learn. He is a smart boy who just needs the right person to continue building on the progress he’s making here.
If you’re looking for an active, trainable companion who’s ready for a fresh start, Skunk could be the perfect fit for you!
