Much like his famous namesake, Wilford Brimley (Brim) comes with a deep, soothing purr that could probably sell you oatmeal or read you a bedtime story. The moment you touch him—or better yet, bring him food—he rumbles like a bass note. Wilford Brimley the cat is an absolute people’s cat. He loves to be brushed, petted, cuddled, and adored by anyone willing to give him attention (kids included!). He takes his insulin shots like a champ—seriously, you won’t even see him flinch—and thanks to his care, his “diabeetus” is well-managed these days. That said, he’s a chow hound who can’t be trusted with an open buffet. He’ll eat anything in sight faster than you can say “Quaker Oats”, so he needs a family who can help him stick to his special diet. He sheds a bit and needs regular brushing (which he enjoys anyway). Now, let’s be honest: Wilford Brimley is not a fan of other pets. Dogs? Absolutely not. Other cats? He’s unpredictable at best, scrappy at worst. His ideal role in life is as your one-and-only—your faithful companion, your lap-warmer, your oatmeal-commercial co-star. Our adoption fees cover spay/neuter for our pets, as well as vaccinations, testing/medication, microchipping and any vet care necessary. Once you fill out an application on the adoptables tab on our website, http://pawpatroldayton.com/adopt, a representative will conduct a reference check with your vet, landlord, and references provided. A call to the potential adopter will be made when the representative is done verifying the information on the application.

To provide information to the public about the negative aspects of pet tethering.
To assist owners with necessary resources to allow them to keep their pet happy, healthy, and out of the already over-crowded shelter system.
