My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pepper's name may be spicy, but this sweet old lady is anything but. Pepper is a cuddle-bug who just wants to be held and be near you whenever she can.

Pepper came to Cameron Animal Rescue from Animal Care and Control in NYC where she brought after being found as a stray. She is approximately 10-12 years old, and although she's not a crazy puppy, or even an active young adult, she still has some good pep in her step. She likes playing for short periods chasing toys and being silly, and she loves going for walks. She likes other calm dogs, but doesn't like hyper younger dogs who try to roughouse with her. She is fine with cats, and has not been tested with young children.

Pepper is generally healthy. She has had general bloodwork and it was excellent. Her adoption includes her full series of DHLPPi (distemper), Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; fecal testing and deworming; complete bloodwork; heartworm and tickbourne disease testing; 1 month of flea/tick and heartworm preventive; spay; microchip. Pepper does need some minor medical care that will be included in his adoption - a small skin growth removal; dentistry.

Pepper will thrive in a quiet home with a family who gives her lots of attention and cuddles, and who has time for a short play session here or there. She deserves the loving, attentive family that she so obviously craves. Could that be you?

More about this rescue

Cameron Animal Hospital has been located on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, New Jersey, since 1936. The family-owned hospital is the first purposfully built animal hospital in the state of NJ, and provides veterinary services to cats, dogs, and other small animals, including rabbits, rats, ferrets, and more.

Cameron Animal Hospital is not a shelter, but works extensively with the rescue community in Essex County by providing veterinary care to local shelters, and finding homes to a variety of animals (cats, dogs, and small animals) who have come into our care.
