Dave is the sweetest black lab mix whose estimated DOB is 1/1/2019 and on 9/16/2025 he weighed 62 pounds. This super sweet handsome boy was found in the median of the road after being hit by a car. His pelvis was badly fractured. Dave has had surgery to repair his pelvis, and he can now walk on his own again even though there is some nerve damage. Dave has been so brave and has remained loving and affectionate through his entire ordeal. He may need pain management in the future , some extra TLC, and need a home where he doesn't have to climb stairs. If you can give Dave the love and care he so richly deserves, he will thank you every minute with undying love and loyalty, and gratitude in his sweet eyes for the rest of his days! Dave's new human will have to consult with our vet before taking him to his new home. Come meet Dave today!
Dave walked the Red-Carpet at our annual fundraising event "Reigning Cat & Dogs". Doesn't he look handsome in hia tuxedo!
Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. More about this shelter
The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned, abused, homeless and unwanted animals; to reduce suffering of animals; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through adoption, spay/neuter, and through education.
The Humane Society of Pulaski County provides access to low-cost, healthy, inoculated, sterilized animals to people seeking to adopt animals as pets only. Adopters are screened to see if they can provide the basics of care for the animals, proper housing, and continued veterinary maintenance; and have no history of animal abuse or irresponsible ownership.
The Humane Society is a private no-kill shelter, supported solely by donations, fund-raisers, bequests and grants. We receive no city, county or state funding, nor are we affiliated with any other organization. We have been rescuing animals since 1946, and have been in our present building since 2000.
