My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ricky Baker came to us from a local shelter: they were having trouble with mites and were concerned about his thick, sun-bleached fur. Bunny Buddies made sure he was safely treated for the mites and then neutered.

Enter Kody and his family, who wanted a new friend for the household. They got along right away!

Kody welcomed the new fuzzy friend into his home and taught him to trust his humans. Unfortunately, they had to move on short notice, and the new place would not allow rabbits... so it was Ricky's turn to show Kody that foster homes are not scary, and that Bunny Buddies would find them a new family soon!

Young and mischievious, Ricky is a still bit more reserved than Kody — so you may need to spend a little more time convincing him to sit still for any pets. His antics encourage Kody to be more active, and both enjoying munching through hay and tearing up cardboard together. His longer hair will need regular brushing, and might benefit from a trim or haircut from time-to-time, too.

These 2 have a clean bill of health and are ready for a new space to explore; apply today!

More about this rescue

We are the primary house rabbit rescue in the Houston Area. We work with area shelters to move rabbits into foster care (particularly rabbits in danger of euthanasia) and with owner surrenders when the owner is willing to "Foster in Place" (continue to provide space and care for the rabbit(s) while we assist in facilitating an adoption.

Through partnerships with area veterinarians, we spay/neuter all of the rabbits in our foster care as well as many rabbits in area shelters. We work to educate the public about house rabbits and their care and the need for spay/neuter. We encourage responsible adoptions to indoor homes and discourage impulse adoptions/purchases (particularly "Easter bunnies").
