My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stitch came to us from a KY rescue partner after being found as a stray puppy in the woods. Given his rough start to life, he has developed a lot of confidence and a great sense of adventure. He has no fear and greets each new experience head on with curiosity and eagerness. He’s equal parts naughty puppy, and cuddly sweetheart - which is the perfect recipe for a puppy in my opinion.

We’re unsure what breeds makeup Stitch’s DNA, but we’re guessing some kind of a hound mix. Despite that, so far he’s been very quiet and respectful of crate time and night time. He’s a 10/10 aim with a pee-pad and is working on potty training in his foster home right now.

Stitch would do great with another confident and active dog to keep him company. He might be a little too assertive for a slower senior dog in retirement, but if you’ve got a young pup who wants to play play play or if you’re an active soul that thrives on adventures and want a friend to bring along - Stitch is your guy.

Stitch is currently being fostered in Chicago and does have an open adoption radius for meaning he can be adopted in or outside of Chicago. However, selected adopter must be willing to meet and finalize in Chicago. His adoption fee includes his age appropriate vaccines, recent deworming and prevention, neuter and microchip. If you would like to be considered a potential forever home apply directly! If you have any questions before applying please email adopt@chicagorescueaurthority.org.

Additional adoption info

Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a forever-home match. We are careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet’s permanent home. These steps ensure that we have all the information needed to make the best placement for you or your family.

More about this rescue

At Chicago Rescue Authority, our mission is to create a compassionate world where every animal is treated with love, respect, and dignity. We are dedicated to educating the public about the adverse realities of the mass-production industry for puppies, raising awareness about responsible pet adoption and ownership, and actively working towards reducing the overpopulation of dogs in shelters.

Our promise to Chicago is to build our rescue on the tenets of teamwork, education and compassion. We will listen to the concerns and ideas of those around us and be ready to grow alongside this rescue and this mission.

Volunteers, fosters, donors and adopters will be the backbone of this organization, just like every other animal welfare non-profit. We will be hosting a variety of fundraisers and mixers throughout the year aimed at building our support network. We can’t wait to meet all the animals whose lives we are going to change!
