My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lady. Once again we were contacted about a stray dog that no one wanted...even the person who found her and helped her could not keep her! She was rescued by a lady in NC when it was obvious she had been abandoned and had come to her as a stray. There was another stray dog that she came with, but the family came and got that one, not Lady! She was skin and bones and under her rescue's care she is now a healthy weight and has been completely vetted and transferred to our rescue when no one wanted her. Unfortunately this is so often the case in the south...dogs just dropped off in the middle of nowhere, left to fend for themselves and unwanted, even when discovered and helped by someone. Sadly, without rescue to commit to her, she would have just been another shelter statistic.

Estimated to be around 2-2.5 years she is beyond puppy stage. She is a loving dog, walks well on a leash and is crate trained. While with the person who saved her, they said "she would stand up and hug on me, lay besid eme as I sat outside and she did well in the house and would sit on my lap. I worked hard to show her she was loved so that she would be ready for a famiy". At day care she is a social, fun, playful, happy girl who enjoys all her canine friends.

More about this rescue

Our rescue focus is on adult dogs from the southeast that are in high kill shelters OR ABANDONED. Our plan is to fully vet, evaluate, and train as needed in preparation for adoption. When we save a life from the shelter, he is taken straight to the vet for a health checkup and while he is there The DOG will be neutered or spayed, receive shots and given a microchip. The rescues will then go to foster care in a home setting to prepare them for a home of their own. This helps to determine the best match for each rescue. Our goal is to make sure lives we save never end up homeless and scared again.
