Hi, I’m Fern! Honestly, I answer mostly to squeaky toys and snack bags right now.
I’m a 14-week-old puppy, probably a Boxer/Shepherd mix (your guess is as good as ours), and I’m in full bloom — the wiggly, bouncy, endlessly curious kind. Like any good plant, I thrive on love, attention, and a little structure to help me grow strong.
I’m playful, sweet, and very into my people. I’ll follow you around the house like a sunflower chasing sunlight and melt into your arms when it’s time to rest. I don’t know much yet — I’m still figuring out this whole “being a dog” thing — but I’m eager to learn and always down for a challenge (especially if treats are involved).
I’ll need plenty of training, consistency, and patience as I grow. Right now, I’m basically a tiny tornado of paws and promise. But with the right care? I’ll grow into something really special.
So if you're ready to raise a puppy, get your hands a little dirty, and help something wild and wonderful take root — I just might be your girl. Let’s grow together.
I weigh 15 pounds and my adoption fee is $300, it includes registration of my microchip, a sample of my food, new leash/collar and toy & treat packet. I am spayed and vaccinated.

New Life Asher House is the adoption focused rescue & sanctuary location of the Asher House organization, a sister property located on the western edge of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Situated on 140 acres with fields to run in, a creek to splash in and plenty of friends to play with. It is a true wonderland for dogs!
Founded in November 2023, New Life Asher House is the 2nd Sanctuary location of The Asher House organization, born of the collaboration with Family Dogs New Life Shelter; who’d been an established part of Portland’s rescue community for 20 years before joining The Asher House. We knew that together our two organizations would bring a unique and inspiring approach to animal rescue.
Our mission is to provide a safe, peaceful, enriching environment for the animals in our care until their adoptive families can be found. Allowing them a place to be loved and protected for as long as needed.
Our Adoption Center located in Portland Oregon gives families the opportunity meet our sanctuaries’ adoptable dogs, complete all adoption paperwork and take their new pup home.
We work hard to provide the best of care for the animals at our rescue & sanctuaries; a large animal care team, 24-hour on-site care givers, an onsite Asher House Veterinary Clinic is currently in the works and there is no shortage of canine cuddlers.
Our primary mission here at New Life Asher House is to rescue dogs in need, but we also provide sanctuary to farmed animals including cows, pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, and horses of all sizes. If you have fur or feathers, we’ll fall in love.
