My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When Ash first came to us, her big brown eyes told a story of fear and uncertainty. After being bounced around through no fault of her own, this sweet 3-year-old pitbull mix didnt know what to expect anymore. She was nervous, especially around men and new people, and her beautiful black coat and brilliant smile were hidden behind worry.

But with patience, kindness, and love, Ash began to open upand what a transformation it has been. Now, she greets her friends with that amazing, heart-melting smile and a happy bounce that shows her true, joyful spirit. She has discovered that people can be safe, that playtime is fun, and that life can be full of love.

Ash has lived with other dogs before and enjoys having furry companions, but she does have a strong prey drive, so small critters bewaresquirrels are her favorite to chase! She loves walks, romping around the yard, and then coming back to shower her trusted people with affection. Once she knows you, she is all inloyal, loving, and full of joy.

A home with older, dog-savvy children would be the best fit for Ash, as she continues to build her confidence and feel secure. She needs a family who will see past her initial shyness, give her the time and patience she deserves, and let her continue to blossom into the confident, happy dog she is meant to be.

Ash may take a little while to trust, but when she does, she will give you her whole heartand her unforgettable smileforever. If you would like to meet Ash, please complete an application on our website: www.crcpa.org/online-application
